Scope and service status
These terms cover use of the Scan My Pet ID website and Buddy demonstration. The site is presented by Expat Smart. Buddy illustrates how a pet identification service can work; it is not a real lost-pet report. The demo is free, creates no owner account, accepts no order or subscription and does not activate an ID tag.
Demo functions
CALL OWNER, SMS OWNER and SHARE SCAN LOCATION are demonstration controls. They do not reach a real owner or send a scan alert. Demonstration profile — no real owner contact information is displayed. You do not need to provide location or contact details to try the demo.
Acceptable use
Use the website lawfully. Do not impersonate an owner, publish another person’s information without authority, harass a finder, introduce harmful code, attempt unauthorised access or interfere with the service. Do not use the demo as proof of pet ownership or as an emergency reporting channel.
Pet safety and service limitations
A QR ID can help identify a pet but cannot guarantee recovery or an owner’s response. It is not a GPS tracker, a microchip, proof of ownership, veterinary advice or an emergency service. Internet access, readable tags and working devices are required. In an actual welfare emergency, contact an appropriate local veterinarian, animal rescue organisation or authority.
Privacy and location choice
The Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Location & Scan Alert Privacy page explain the current demo. For a future live finder service, sharing precise location must be optional and permission-based. Refusal or an unavailable location must not stop access to the pet profile, CALL OWNER or SMS OWNER.
Branding and external services
Scan My Pet ID and Expat Smart branding and original content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Viewing or sharing a link does not transfer ownership of that material. External websites, email services and mobile networks have their own terms and privacy practices.
Availability and responsibility
The demo may be updated or temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security or technical reasons. Do not rely on it to deliver urgent assistance. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights. No blanket waiver of those rights is intended.
