Pet ID / QR Disclaimer
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This page applies to the current free demonstration. Real owner accounts, payments and scan alerts are not active.
Buddy is an example
Demonstration profile — no real owner contact information is displayed. Buddy’s details, lost-pet label and contact actions are illustrations. They must not be treated as a real animal welfare alert or proof that a particular pet is missing.
What the demo QR does
The large demo QR opens Buddy’s public demonstration at www.scanmypetid.com/demo/buddy. It contains a web address, not a real owner’s telephone number or private details. The small tag pictured on Buddy is an illustrative product image; use the separate large demo QR to test the page.
Identification is not tracking
A QR tag is not a GPS tracker. It cannot continuously locate an animal, find a pet without a scan, replace a registered microchip or prove ownership. A ‘microchipped’ label is information supplied in a profile; it is not a verification of a chip registry.
Practical limitations
Scanning depends on a readable code, an attached and undamaged tag, a compatible device, internet access and website availability. A future live profile also depends on accurate owner information. Contact attempts or alerts may be delayed, fail or receive no response. Recovery, uninterrupted access and alert delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Safe use
Check the destination before opening a QR link and avoid submitting sensitive information to unfamiliar pages. Do not approach an unsafe animal or put yourself at risk. For a real injured or endangered animal, seek appropriate local professional help. This website does not dispatch rescue or emergency services.
Location and responsibility
Finder location is optional and requires permission. Refusal must not stop access to the pet profile, CALL OWNER or SMS OWNER. The demo does not obtain location or send alerts. Nothing in this disclaimer limits rights or responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited. Report misleading information or a broken code through Contact / Support.
